Our very own ‘prince of plastic’, as he’s come to be known (quoting a write-up in Vogue Italia), has a new show on, Junk. Nasty junkie paraphernalia: the spoon, the needle, the lighter, the syringe, pills, are made out of Régis-R’s’ signature bits of recycled plastic. Oversized and colourful, the sculptures become friendly and toylike, though death hovers over proceedings in the form of a gigantic skeleton, flat on his back in a corner.
