this week’s films with Rebecca Leffler

Michael Moore’s new documentary CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY metes out responsibility for the GFC:

Bruno Dumont’s new and predictably intense film (previous efforts L’Humanité (1999) and Flandres (2006) both won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival) HADEWIJCH, a film about religious faith and devotion, has been universally praised by the critics:

SAMSON & DELILAH, an Australian Aboriginal love story, took home the Camera d’Or at Cannes this year and is not to be missed:

if you liked the book, go see THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE (Hors du Temps), though it’s not as good as the book by Audrey Niffenegger, bien sûr:

And, to get you into the Christmas spirit even if it is only November is Robert Zemeckis’ (Back to The Future, Forrest Gump) animated A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Le Drôle de Noël de Scrooge); make sure to see it in 3D !
