As a prelude to the coming summer and its promise of music and festivals (Solidays, Rock en Seine etc), Colette presents a collection of photographs – entitled Music Loves You – that attempt to capture that unique sense of estival freedom. Showing not the festival performers, but rather their audience, this group of works tries to capture that moment of ephemeral togetherness unique to the concert venue: that moment when performer, audience, and individual merge into one. With photographs taken by a selection of musicians themselves (Beck, Nick Zinner, Lenny Kravitz and more) we also get a unique view from the other side of the stage – an audience’s gaze returned.
Until 30 April.
