Emerging from the Detroit techno scene in the early 1990s, Richie Hawtin (now based out of Berlin) has gone on to become a prolific producer, performer, and owner of the record label m_nus. For the first time ever Hawtin is touring the world as Plastikman, a return to his earliest moniker, in a live electronic performance that explores the connection between visual, audio, and interactive technologies. Plastikman stops in Paris at the Parc de la Villette for We Love Sonique [Part I], a prelude to this summer’s experimental music festival Villette Sonique. Completing Hawtin’s line-up are the equally avant-garde producer/performers Magda, Troy Pierce, and Mark Houle. (We Love Sonique Part II headlines Vitalic on Sat 5 June.)
