Buy your tickets at the Fnac, or on the door. But there’s also pétanque and deckchairs, and free entry from 10.30pm for the DJ sets.

Apple Store Opéra

A second Apple Store opened on Saturday, two steps from Opéra, 18 months after the brand’s first Paris store opened in the Carroussel du Louvre in Nov 2009. A larger space, the new Apple Store is located in a former bank and spreads out over 3 floors and 1,200 m2.

New Prince album free in this week’s Courrier International

France gets the world exclusive on Prince’s 27th studio album this week. The weekly international news mag Courrier International will include the new 10 track album 20ten for free in its 8 July edition this Thursday. From 10 July, the rest of Europe will get access to the album in the same original manner, with the UK’s Daily Mirror et Daily Record offering the album to their readers in their Saturday editions, for example. Prince clearly isn’t finished challenging traditional modes of musical production and distribution.

La Bazarette Fooding and Days Off

This summer, Le Fooding is taking a producer market around France to feed the hordes at a couple of the summer’s best music festivals. First stop, Paris, tomorrow!, for the new festival Days Off. There’ll be an acoustic gig from excellent local act Lilly Wood and the Prick, plus graphic design duo Change is Good on the decks, and a delicious summer menu featuring tomatoes, tapenade, root salad, 2 year old Salers cheese, apricots and Joyeuse macaroons. Mixologist Olivier Bon of the Experimental Cocktail Club will also present his version of the ‘Tomate’ (Ricard + berries + green tomato + lemon).

Our favourite arty knick-knack store Arty Dandy is setting up shop inside the Crazy Horse, which since the appointment of choreographer heavyweight Philippe Découflé, continues building its artistic credibility. Arty Dandy will be bringing their astute selection of designer objets to the cabaret, as well as developing a selection of sexy pieces branded Crazy Horse by Arty Dandy. Opening in September. Arty Dandy have also recently opened corners in American Retro (St Sulpice, and Francs-Bourgeois).

The Batofar, restaurant and plage

The Batofar – aka the floating institute of good times – got an overhaul late last year and is looking better than ever. The renovated space now includes a quality restaurant serving a short menu in the evening of simple, flavoursome dishes by Romuald Sanfourche (Aubrac steak with home-made chips, 18€; fillet of bream with mushrooms and salad, 18€; apple and rhubarb crumble, 7€…). There’s also an all-night bar menu to keep the hungry hordes going. And a pop-up bar and restaurant on the quay opposite the boat has just opened as part of the Batofar’s great summer program La Plage du Batofar, boasting deckchairs and DJs from 7pm Mon-Sat! They’ll be celebrating the Fête de la Musique there on 21 June from 6pm with a free electro line-up featuring Toxic Avenger, Make The Girl Dance and Macross…

Eurostar Records Launch

Eurostar launched a record label Eurostar Records last night with a showcase of their first signings at the recently overhauled club the Bus Palladium. (Brands come to the rescue of the music industry.) The up-for-it crowd discovered 3 London bands: Fiction and their arty multi-instrumentalism; Man Like Me and their energetic hybrid sound kinda like a crossover of Madness and The Streets; and Plugs with their sophisticated indie dance sounds. The label will inaugurate Off Tracks – a series of gigs in surprising places – on 2 July with a concert from the 4th band in their stable Velo, more info on their site from 28 June…
