If you haven't already been, THE spot for Asian food is near metro Tolbiac on Avenue de Choisy. The food is delicious, cheap and the restaurants are always packed. There are a bunch to choose from.
Tang's grocery store is also up the street, more towards Place d'Italie where you can wander around and get everything you need to make an Asian meal... this place has like 20 different kinds of lettuce and cabbage. A friend of mine hosted a dinner the other night where he got all the stuff there - egg rolls, four kinds of dim sum which he steamed, two kinds of sticky buns, and some kind of nougat-y dessert. I was so pysched.

CHEZ NEIGE on the tiny Rue Veron Metro Blanche or Abbesses is a favorite. it's small place with excellent food and excellent prices.
Le Cambodge off the Canal Saint Martin is to die for.
Also counts as Asian, right?
Get off at Métro 'La Chapelle' (line 2), and there's a whole host of Indo-Sri Lankan cantines.
Belleville (2,11) is also a traditional haunt for Chinese/Vietnamese food.
