..can be found at 'Le Comptoir du 7eme' at Ecole Militiare, just at the entrance of the Metro with the same name. This is a great place to hang out and eat good food at cheap prices (around 15 euros per head, ex alcohol) - the perfect Parisian mix of great decor (mostly red), a great buzz, fast and friendly service (most of the waiters are gay, and you may be lucky to see a dancing queen performance if you're there at closing time..). They serve food all day, and don't take bookings. Perfect to take your Parisian friends or overseas visitors alike. The salads are amazing (and big), and the Planche de boeuf is to die for, as is the Chocolate moelleux. The only dud is the chicken & chips. You normally pay double for food this good.

I went to La Caravane (35, Rue de la Fontaine au Roi, 75011 Paris - 01 49 23 01 86) about 2 weeks ago and the experience was amazing. The food is amazing and there are always vegetarian options ... don't remember exactly how much but the menu was way under 20 euros for lunch. The price is a suprise for how good the food is -nems, foie gras, frisee, all my favorite words. The crowd is pretty young and I would definitely come check this place out at night. I am pretty sure the host events and writing workshops or something like that ...
