To promote the art of animation, cinemas and institutions alike are opening their doors to free film screenings, workshops, exhibitions, and technical demonstrations during this festival. Works from many countries, including Holland, China, Bulgaria and Russia, demonstrate the diverse artistic methods that the animated film uses to express its relationship with music, mankind, nature and civilisation. On the Sun 28 Oct – International Animation Day – a closing evening with special guest Jean-François Laguionie, known for the production of L’Ile de Black Mor (2004), will take place at the Centre Pompidou. Three award-winning animated films selected from the International Animation Contest, dealing with the subject of global warming, will also be screened on the night. Pour faire la promotion de l’art de l’animation pendant ce festival, cinémas et institutions ouvrent leurs portes pour des projections gratuites, des ateliers, des expos et des démonstrations techniques. Des œuvres venues du monde entier, y compris de Hollande, de Chine, de Bulgarie et de Russie, montrent la diversités des méthodes artistiques auxquelles fait appel le film d’animation pour exprimer sa relation avec la musique, avec les humains, avec la nature et avec la civilisation. Dimanche 28 octobre (Journée Internationale de l’Animation), pour la soirée de clôture, Jean-François Laguionie, dont on connaît bien la production de L’Ile de Black Mor (2004), sera présent au Centre Pompidou.Trois films d’animation primés, sur le thème du réchauffement climatique et sélectionnés dans le cadre du Concours International d’Animation, seront aussi projetés ce soir-là.
