The label that gave us another Swede, with a name that sounds anything but Scandinavian (José Gonzales), brings us the foursome Little Dragon, whose endearing album is filled with bright, urban and poetic moods, as well as various influences. Basically electronic, their eponymous first album is all at once pop, soul, dub and jazzy. Yukimi Nagano, the band’s female vocalist, sounds intriguingly addictive – like Feist or Hanne Hukkelberg, she’s got us hook on the first listening. According to Yukimi, ‘Little Dragon is like a city, with the blue lights of traffic, neon lights, love, loneliness and technology, all reflected in the middle of a sweeping ocean.’ BJ
