Behind the slightly pretentious sounding title hides an album at the frontiers of electro, pop, and of course, disco. While Calvin Harris clearly hasn't reinvented disco, his album nonetheless breathes freshness and enthusiasm into the genre. Having built up a fan base through Myspace, the 23 year-old Scot is no doubt heading for success with I Created Disco, a collection of fine party-ready tunes. With its mix of heady musical gimmicks, sexy vocals perched in the high registers, pumping rhythms and neat arranging, it's difficult not be be won over. Already being compared with James Murphy of the LCD Soundsystem and with Mika, one hopes Harris can follow in the footsteps of the talented Mister Murphy without becoming quite as annoying as the big man himself.
