The lovely French kidswear label Bonton opens to the public their massive new flagship today. In the former Zuber (mythic handmade wallpapers) showroom at the very top of the Marais, the enormous 3-floor space reunites all the brand’s collections: baby, ‘bazar’ the interiors collection, and also Papillon, a more high-end label. Rei Kawakubo keeps challenging retail conventions with yet another pop-up store, this one selling the BLACK range, a special collection of re-edited (and unbelievably affordable!) pieces, to celebrate Comme des Garçons 40th (yes, 40th!) birthday. Our favourite sacs at the new shop (10 rue Charlot) come in chrome or aluminum blues and make us think of old Helmut Lang [...]

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, Comme des Garçons has set up a bunch of pop-up stores around the globe selling their recently unveiled , and equally ephemeral, BLACK range, composed of pared-down versions of Comme classics in, you guessed it, black. With the whole retail experience feeling ever more blandly recycled, Rei Kawakubo—who invented the [...]
