The Swedish fashion brand is scheduled to launch a second Parisian space during Fashion Week in October, opposite the Bonton flagship (3 rue Froissart) in the Northern Marais. The 200 m2 space will become the brand’s flagship, over their Palais Royal store, opened in 2008. Her life – which includes a nearly unheard of departure from the French civil service’s gilded upper spheres where she worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – has been marked by a passion for collecting and rarity. The smouldering Parisian [...] Street cred and high-quality, made-in-France stitching and skins have pushed Florian Denicourt – who made his début designing accessories for Vanessa Bruno – from the carefully edited offerings of Maison Jean-Baptiste to the spotlit shelves of fashion emporiums like Le Bon Marché and the massively upscaled Printemps Haussmann. Denincourt’s first boutique in the Northern Marais [...] The lovely French kidswear label Bonton opens to the public their massive new flagship today. In the former Zuber (mythic handmade wallpapers) showroom at the very top of the Marais, the enormous 3-floor space reunites all the brand’s collections: baby, ‘bazar’ the interiors collection, and also Papillon, a more high-end label. There’s also a vintage [...] Rei Kawakubo keeps challenging retail conventions with yet another pop-up store, this one selling the BLACK range, a special collection of re-edited (and unbelievably affordable!) pieces, to celebrate Comme des Garçons 40th (yes, 40th!) birthday. The discreet little store will remain open throughout 2010. Jacques Génin, black-belt in chocolate making, reins over this minimal, airy tea room at the top of the rue de Turenne. Here you can enjoy an excellent tea, coffee or hot chocolate along with one of Genin’s exquisite creations: caramels, marshmallow, nougats, and chocolates, as well as a small number of patisseries: éclairs, lemon or [...] This new Northern Marais address, just off rue Charlot, sells healthy and tasty home-made sweet or savoury tarts to take away or to eat in.
